Design It For Us — a coalition of youth activists — traveled across the country on a campus tour to speak to and meet with college students.This tour offered students the opportunity to address the human and shared experiences of growing up entirely on social media.

The Declaration of Digital Rights centers youth voices in determining policy and design priorities needed to protect young users of social media platforms.

Like our policy platform, our AI policy puts forth key principles that we strive to uphold in our support for legislation and policy meant to best protect kids, teens, and young people online. While this technology may be new, the principles we wish to see governing it are not. As technology and the AI ecosystem continue to evolve, we will update these principles to meet the moment.

We deserve products and policies that respect our privacy and safety and are designed with us in mind. As digital natives, we demand a safer environment in which we can continue to grow and thrive. We don’t want to neglect social media – we want to make it better. To achieve that vision, Design It For Us supports policy that adheres to 5 key principles.
