Design It For Us co-chair Zamaan Qureshi issued the following statement on the sustained veto of the Vermont Kids Code:

“I am deeply disappointed by the failed override of Governor Scott’s veto of the Vermont Kids Code. The Vermont Kids Code would have ensured long overdue protection for youth that ensures a safer online environment. Overturning Governor Scott’s veto would have been a much-needed step toward protecting youth from the sustained exploitation and undue harms that we experience from social media. Instead, unfortunately, Big Tech’s interests will continue to prevail over children’s safety and privacy in Vermont.”
